Your Writers Workshop
We’ve developed a process rooted in real writing workshops, led by a group of accomplished, published writers. The college essay is a personal essay, and we believe it should be guided by people who know how to write one. Our goal isn’t just a polished final draft, but writing that’s alive: specific, surprising, and personal. The kind of essay that not only stands out to admissions officers - but stays with them.
For Your College Essay
Through our hourly workshops and editing sessions, you can work with a tutor at any stage of the process, from your very first brainstorming session to final edits before you hit submit.
Many students work with us over several weeks; others book a session for feedback on a near-final draft (though we don’t recommend waiting until the night before!). We also help with supplemental questions and the activities section - we have tips and strategies for every written part of the application.
An outstanding college essay doesn’t rely on gimmicks, it reveals how you think, what you care about, and why it matters. Through the writing process, we can help you bring clarity, voice, and purpose to the page.

What Universities Say
A well-written and thoughtful essay—reflecting who you are and what you believe—can go a long way to separating your application from the slew of forgettable ones that admissions officers read. Indeed, officers may rely on them even more now that many colleges are not considering test scores.

With affirmative action outlawed, and use of SATs in decline, selective colleges are paying ever more attention to essays. ChatGPT poses a challenge.

In each of these essays, students were able to share stories from their everyday lives to reveal something about their character, values, and life that aligned with the culture and values. The most important thing to remember is to be original as you share your own story, thoughts, and ideas with us.
